Curtain walling is the glazed aluminium framework that forms the outer face of a building: full-height glass panels carried in a slim aluminium grid. NW Automatic Doors installs new curtain walling and repairs existing systems across North Wales — from cracked glass and failed seals to storm and impact damage.
Urgent and non-urgent routes are kept separate, so a site-down call can stay focused on getting safe and operational.

Why curtain walling sits alongside our door work
Commercial entrances are usually part of the glazed frontage, not separate from it. The same aluminium systems, gaskets and glazing methods run through both, so the team that services your automatic door can put right the screen it sits in. That means one visit, one point of contact, and no arguments between a glazier and a door engineer about whose job the leak is.
Why us for glazing work
One local team for the doors and the glazing around them
Curtain walling problems tend to arrive as a leak, a smashed panel or a draughty office — all things that need someone on site quickly, not a chain of subcontractors.
Answers
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is curtain walling?
Curtain walling is a non-loadbearing glazed outer skin. Slim aluminium mullions and transoms form a grid, and glass or infill panels sit within it, so the building frame carries the weight and the wall simply keeps the weather out. You will see it on office frontages, retail units, schools, showrooms and modern extensions.
Do you repair curtain walling you did not install?
Yes. We work on aluminium curtain walling, glazed screens and shopfronts from all the major systems, whoever originally supplied them. Even if the installer has long gone, we can usually identify the profile, source matching glass or gaskets and put the section right.
Can you replace just one broken glass panel?
Normally, yes. Individual glazed units can be taken out and replaced without disturbing the rest of the frontage. If a pane is smashed we will make the opening safe and secure first, then fit the replacement unit once the glass is made to size.
Our glazing leaks or whistles in the wind — is that fixable?
Usually. Draughts and water ingress on curtain walling are most often perished gaskets, failed seals or blocked drainage in the frame rather than the glass itself. We check the whole section, replace the seals and clear the drainage so water leaves the frame the way it was designed to.
Do you cover both commercial and private properties?
We do. Curtain walling, glazed screens and shopfronts are most common on commercial buildings, but we take on private work too. We cover North Wales and Mid Wales, and our engineers are employed in-house rather than subcontracted.
